Lansing YMCA Receives Life-Saving AEDs from Champions of the Heart

Lansing, MI – April 8, 2025 – Champions of the Heart, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community health and safety through the distribution of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and CPR training, has generously donated two AED devices to the Lansing YMCA. This donation aims to bolster the YMCA’s emergency preparedness and ensure the safety of its members and visitors.

The donation ceremony took place on April 8 at the Lansing YMCA’s Westside branch, where representatives from both organizations gathered to celebrate this significant contribution. The AEDs will be strategically placed within Lansing YMCA facilities to provide immediate access in the event of a cardiac emergency.

“At Champions of the Heart, our mission is to save lives by equipping communities with the tools and knowledge needed to respond to cardiac emergencies,” said Coach Garland, Co-Founder of Champions of the Heart. “We are thrilled to partner with the Lansing YMCA to enhance their life-saving capabilities and support their commitment to community health.”

The Lansing YMCA, known for its dedication to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, is excited to integrate these AEDs into their safety protocols. “We are incredibly grateful to Champions of the Heart for this generous donation,” said Casey Thompson, President and CEO of the Lansing YMCA. “These AEDs will significantly enhance our ability to respond to emergencies and ensure the well-being of our members and program participants.”
